Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 1, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Emona collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our services.
1. Introduction
At Emona, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy outlines what data we collect and how it's used.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect:
  • Email addresses, story prompts, and payment details (see below *).
  • Log data including browser type, IP address, and timestamps.
  • Cookies to manage sessions and enhance user experience.
  • Behavioral data on how users interact with Emona to improve the service.

* All payment transactions are handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processor. Emona does not store full credit card numbers or billing details on our servers. Stripe complies with relevant data protection standards, including those applicable to children’s data when required.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
  • Provide and enhance Emona’s features.
  • Manage your story generation and virtual credits.
  • Monitor and prevent misuse of the service.
4. AI Processing & Data Retention
Emona uses its own proprietary AI models to generate stories and images. None of the user inputs are shared with or sent to third-party AI providers. We do not retain AI inputs beyond your active session, and all story generation takes place securely within our platform.
5. Analytics & Tracking
Emona does not use third-party analytics tools or tracking services such as Google Analytics or Microsoft Clarity. We do not track individual user behavior such as clicks, scrolls, or time spent on pages. Your activity on Emona remains private and is not shared with external analytics providers.
6. User Rights & Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us through our contact form. Requests will be honored unless legal retention is required.
7. Children's Privacy
Emona is primarily designed for use by adults and educators. Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to create accounts or log in independently.

However, students may access Emona through school-managed platforms such as Clever. In these cases, student access is authorized and managed by the school or district under the “school official exception” of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which allows schools to consent on behalf of parents for the use of educational tools in the classroom.

Students logging in via Clever can only view Social Stories™ that have been created for them by their teachers. Emona does not allow students to create their own accounts, generate stories, or input personal information independently.

If we become aware that a child under 13 has created an account or accessed Emona without appropriate authorization or supervision, we will promptly delete the account and any associated data.

Emona complies with COPPA by limiting data collection and requiring adult or institutional consent for access by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 outside of school-managed environments.

Parents or legal guardians may review, delete, or request changes to their child’s personal information by contacting us through our contact process.
8. Contact Information
