3. Exact Data Use Breakdown
We use specific categories of data as follows:
  • Prompts and user inputs: used to generate requested content, personalize outputs, provide support, debug errors, prevent abuse, and maintain safety.

  • Provide customer support and respond to privacy, security, or account requests.
  • Debug errors, monitor performance, maintain reliability, and improve product functionality.
  • Protect the service, prevent misuse, detect unauthorized access, investigate abuse, and enforce our terms.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising. We do not use sensitive autism-related, disability-related, child-related, student-related, health-related, or educational information for advertising.
5. AI Processing and Third-Party AI Providers
Emona uses artificial intelligence systems to process user inputs and generate outputs.

When you submit a prompt, uploaded content, or request, the information you provide may be sent to AI service providers, including OpenAI and, where applicable, media or image generation providers such as Replicate, to generate the requested response.

The data sent to AI providers may include:
  • User prompts and instructions.
  • Context provided by the user, including optional sensitive, autism-related, disability-related, child-related, student-related, behavioral, educational, or support-related context.
  • Uploaded content, if the feature being used requires uploaded content.
  • System instructions necessary to generate the requested output.
We do not send account passwords or payment information to AI providers.

You control what information is included in prompts and uploaded content. Because inputs may be sent to AI providers to generate outputs, users should avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information.
How Data Flows Through Emona
When you use Emona:
  1. You enter a prompt or upload content.
  2. Your input is transmitted securely to Emona’s servers.
  3. To generate a response, we send relevant portions of your input to AI providers (such as OpenAI or Replicate).
  4. These providers process the data to generate the requested output in accordance with their applicable terms and privacy policies.
  5. The generated output is returned to Emona and displayed to you.
  6. We store data only if:
    • You choose to save content.
    • It is required for functionality (such as history or drafts).
    • It is needed for security, debugging, or legal compliance.

We do not send more data than necessary to fulfill your request.
6. ChatGPT, GPT Store, and OpenAI Platform Use
If you access Emona through ChatGPT, the GPT Store, or another OpenAI product, OpenAI may separately process your interaction according to OpenAI’s own terms, privacy policies, and data controls.

Emona does not control OpenAI’s platform-level processing, account settings, retention settings, model improvement settings, workspace settings, or privacy tools. Users should review OpenAI’s privacy and data control settings when using Emona through ChatGPT.

Emona’s handling of data is described in this Privacy Policy. OpenAI’s handling of data through ChatGPT or the OpenAI platform is governed by OpenAI’s own policies.
7. Data Sharing and Recipients
We share information only as needed to operate, secure, and provide Emona. Categories of recipients include:
  • AI service providers: such as OpenAI and Replicate, which may receive prompts, user-provided context, uploaded content, and generated-output requests as needed to produce responses.
  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure providers: which host our application, databases, files, backups, logs, and related systems.
  • Authentication and account providers: which help users log in, manage sessions, and secure accounts.
  • Analytics, monitoring, and diagnostics providers: which help us understand feature usage, diagnose errors, detect outages, monitor security, and improve performance. Where possible, we limit, aggregate, or de-identify personal data used for analytics.
  • Customer support and communication providers: which help us respond to messages, privacy requests, bug reports, and support requests.
  • Legal, safety, or compliance recipients: when required by law, legal process, or to protect users, Emona, our rights, or the public.
Service providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to Emona and are expected to protect information using appropriate safeguards.
8. Children’s Privacy and Student Information
Emona is intended for use by adults, including parents, caregivers, educators, clinicians, and professionals. Children should not create accounts or use Emona independently unless permitted by applicable law and supervised by a parent, guardian, school, or authorized adult.

Because Emona may be used to create autism-related, accessibility-related, or educational materials for children, users should avoid entering directly identifying child or student information unless necessary. Users should avoid entering a child’s full name, address, school ID, precise location, medical record number, or other unnecessary identifiers.

If you are a parent, guardian, educator, school representative, clinician, or caregiver, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the authority and consent required to provide any child-related, student-related, educational, disability-related, behavioral, or health-related information to Emona.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without required consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. Sensitive Information
Emona may process sensitive information if users choose to include it in prompts, uploaded content, or settings. This may include information related to autism, disability, behavior, communication, education, sensory needs, accessibility needs, health, or support needs.

We use sensitive information only to provide the requested service, personalize generated content, provide support, maintain safety and security, comply with law, or protect rights and safety.

We do not sell sensitive information. We do not use sensitive information for targeted advertising. We do not use sensitive information to train AI models.
10. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
  • Account information: retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period after closure as needed for legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, or compliance purposes.
  • User inputs and generated content: retained only if needed to provide the service, maintain history, support saved projects, or fulfill user-requested features. If the user deletes saved content or requests deletion, we will delete or de-identify it unless retention is required by law or security needs.
  • Temporary AI processing data: processed as needed to generate outputs. We do not retain prompts or AI processing data for longer than necessary unless the user chooses to save content, the data is needed for security, support, debugging, legal compliance, or abuse prevention, or retention is required by law.
  • Technical logs and diagnostic data: generally retained for 30 to 90 days, unless needed longer for security, abuse prevention, debugging, legal compliance, or audit purposes.
  • Backups: retained for up to 30 days, after which they are overwritten or deleted in the ordinary course of business.
  • Support communications: retained as needed to respond to requests, maintain support records, resolve disputes, and improve support.
When information is no longer needed, we delete, de-identify, or anonymize it unless retention is required by law or legitimate security needs.

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:
  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Delete your account or specific content.

12. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, session identifiers, and similar technologies to operate the service, keep users logged in, remember settings, secure accounts, prevent fraud, diagnose errors, and understand basic usage.

We do not use cookies for targeted advertising. You may be able to control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling certain cookies may affect core functionality.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These safeguards may include access controls, encryption in transit where supported, logging, monitoring, least-privilege access, secure authentication practices, vendor review, and security monitoring.

No system is completely secure. Users should avoid submitting unnecessary personal, sensitive, child-related, student-related, health-related, or confidential information.
14. International Data Transfers
Emona and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws different from those in your location. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

17. No Medical, Emergency, or Crisis Use
Emona is not an emergency service. Do not use Emona for emergencies, crisis intervention, diagnosis, treatment decisions, or immediate safety concerns. If there is an emergency or risk of harm, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
